Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira - Run away
Moldova originally had 25 songs in their final, which after an SMS wildcard round grew to 30. Due to high amount of songs 2 semifinals were held, coming up to a final on March 6. Olia Tira, together with Sunstroke Project will represent Moldova with the dance song "Run away". Olia has tried ever since the start of Moldovan Eurovision history, and has finally made it. Will this be her best shot of winning it?

The Peter Nalitch Band - Lost and forgotten
On March 7 a national final was held. 25 songs competed, no wildcards were added. Dima Bilan (Russia 2006/2008) was rumoured to come back, but for unknown reasons withdrew his entry "White nights" written by Philip Kirkorov (Russia 1995). Peter Nalitch surprisingly won the preselection convincingly with one of the most forgettable songs of the night which does its title justice: "Lost and forgotten".

10 songs were selected out of a total of 155 submitted songs. Among the names are Iiris Veesik who has tried in 2007, Rolf Junior from the past 2 years and Lenna Kuurmaa, former lead singer of Swiss entrants Vanilla Ninja in 2005. In the end it was Malcolm Lincoln who'll send his siren to Oslo, he was selected on March 12.

Kristína – Horehronie
On February 27 the top acts from the semi finals met each other in the final. The same system was used as to their approach in 2009, with 6 qualifying heats. All 3 heats winner Kristina was in were won convincingly by the young Slovakian singing a patriotic song about a region in Slovakia.

Kuunkuiskaajat - Työlki ellää
Out of the artists lining up in the three Finnish semi finals, it seemed Eläkeläiset were destinated to be the winners, or maybe even tango king Amadeus Lundberg. But they both got passed by folk inspired Kuunkuiskaajat in the final.

Aisha - What for? (Only Mr. God knows why)
Eirodziesma only had a final this year, no semi's. From the 10 artists, three made it to the second round in the final on February 27. Aisha won this second round.

Milan Stanković - Ovo je Balkan
On March 13 the Serbian song was selected. RTS anounced that famous musician/composer, Goran Bregović, will compose the country's entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. His band was responsible for the interval act in the final of Belgrade 2008. The 3 artists set to represent Serbia is Milan Stankovic, an Idol contestant in Serbia with an ode to the Balkan countries, and above all Serbia.

Vukašin Brajić - Thunder & Lightning
On January 11 the Bosnian broadcaster presented their artist for Oslo, Vukašin Brajić, the presentation of the song, Munja i Grom, was first premier on March 14. Afterwards it was confirmed the English version would go to Oslo.

Poland's national final was held on February 14. The last artist to be added to the group of participating acts in the Polish national final was popular Marcin. He did what he had to do... win!

Tom Dice - Me and my guitar
No Eurosong was held this year. An internal selection picked Tom Dice as the artist. The song was performed for the first time in an hour long special on March 7. The song he will sing is titled "Me and my guitar".

Thea Garrett - My Dream
36 artists, 6 semi finals, one final. Quite a lot for a small country like Malta. The final of Eurosong 2010 was held on February 20. Thea Garrett won.

Juliana Pasha - It's all about you
The 48th Festivali i Këngës once again was the Albanian national final. 36 songs were performed over 4 nights in the end of 2009. The winning song, written by Ardit Gjebrea, Ardit Gjebrea & Pirro Çako and Shpetim Saraçi, was originally performed in Albanian under the title "Nuk mundem pa ty". The song is currently being produced in the UK, and will hold the English title "It's all about you".

10 Artists were presented by ERT. Two of them had been disqualified because their songs leaked out too early. Greece selected Alkaios & Friends on March 12. The song "Opa" is different than what Greece usually sends, and brings more tradition than before.[

Filipa Azevedo - Há dias assim
Portugal's national final started out with an online elimination round to select the top 24 that would be divided over 2 semifinals. After a Eurovision week in Portugal, Filipa Azevedo was chosen to represent Portugal over public favourite Catarina Pereira on the March 6. The song was afterwards welcomed with booing by the audience. Let's hope Filipa has more luck in Oslo.

Gjoko Taneski - Jas ja imam silata
The result after two semi finals and one final is the winning song, you can listen to by pressing the play button up here. The final was held on February 20. Gjoko Taneski will represent his country in Oslo.

3+2 - Butterflies
BTRC is in charge of the Belarussian entry this year, after ONT's EBU membership was rejected. The group 3+2, the original runners-up of first season of "Musical Court" hosted by ONT, was confirmed to be the entry on February 25. However, the entry "Far away" was changed for "Butterflies" on March 19.

15 Artists were announced, Hera Björk who was competing for Denmark last year, was one of them. She won the contest on 6 February.

Inculto - East European Funk
In three semi finals 9 artist were selected to go to the final. Another three will be selected from the initial losers, which will bring the final to a total of 12 participants. In the final, the Lithuanians picked the funny song of the evening as their representative in Oslo.

Out of 10 songs this song was selected during the national final on February 14. Eva Rivas won the preselection over big favourites Emmy & Mihran. Emmy however has afterwards filed a lawsuit against ArmTV for said corruption. Nevertheless it's looking likely Eva Rivas won't need to worry. Yet another style of music from this country in the Kaukasus.

Harel Ska'at has been selected to participate for Israel. He sang four ballads in Kdam on 15 March, Milim was selected to represent Israel.

Chanée & N'Evergreen - In a moment like this
On February 6, the Danes selected 'In a moment like this, a song written by Swedish Thomas G:Son. The song was earlier submitted to Melodifestivalen twice, but never made the selection in Sweden.

Like every year Swedish Melodifestivalen consisted of 4 semi finals, a second chance heat and a final. Unlike other years there was no clear favorite. Anything could happen. The Ictimai TV official stated that the country's representative for Eurovision 2010 would be decided by 100% jury vote. Six artists were announced, 3 of them eliminated in a semifinal. Meryem Shabanova, Safura Elizade and the group Milk & Kisses competed for the right to represent Azerbaijan on March 2. Safura has won the right to represent Azerbaijan, and will now undergo intensive training to be the best she can be for Eurovision night. On 18 March it was announced she is going to perform Drip Drop in Oslo

Vasily Lazarovich was going to represent the country. A national final, including 5 songs, was held on the March 6. Vasily was set to represent the Ukraine with the song "I love you...", however since NTU was taken over by the new government, they would select a completely new entry on March 20. Alyosha finally won the right to represent the Ukraine with the song "To be free". At least that is what we thought, untill it appeared it was already two years old, ang got disqualified for that.... Ukraine has now finally announced Sweet People as their entry, by Alyosha.

Quite a controversial song, the Dutch selected this year. Pierre Kartner wrote a song, that got heavily critisized from the beginning. After the Nationaal Songfestival on February 7, where 5 beginning artists performed the song, Sieneke's version even became a number one hit in the Netherlands, the first Dutch entry ever to do so.

A national final in Romania was planned on March 6. 15 songs were to compete. In names we found Luminita Anghel (Romania 2005) with a memoriam to Michael Jackson and various usual suspects in Romania, including Ovi who was part of the Norwegian preselection last year. In the end he was the winner together with Romanian success Paula Seling. Together they will sing the song "Playing with fire"

Niamh Kavanagh, who already won the contest once, back in the 90's, with In Your Eyes, now gets the chance to become the new Johnny Logan. She got selected during the national Irish final on 5 March. Now the only thing she will have to do is win in Oslo.

The artist, Miro, has been selected internally by 58 Bulgarian music insiders. He sang 5 songs on the National Final but the song he wrote himself was selected with a vast majority of votes.

Feminnem - Lako je sve
177 Songs submitted to Dora. 24 songs were in the running to represent Croatia. Among the possible reserves to the semifinal were Kraljevi Ulice which represented Croatia in 2008. Representatives for Bosnia & Herzegovina in 2005, Feminnem, won the right to represent Croatia on March 6, with maximum points from both the jury and the public.

In the Georgian final, Sopho (or Sofia as she is called internationally) performed six songs, mostly written by foreign writers and composers. The winning song Shine is penned by Hanne Sørvaag, who also co-wrote the Norwegian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Gossip papers in Turkey mentioned Tarkan as a possible candidate for Oslo. TRT however confirmed the group maNga would represent them, they are the winners of the MTV European Music Award for Europe's Favourite Act at the end of last year. "We could be the same" was the rumoured title for the song, which was confirmed on March 3.

Like 2008 and 2009, Spain started its selection with an internet contest. Out of a large number of submitted songs, ten made it to the final, where on February 22 Daniel Diges won over fan favourite Coral.

The French song's title has been presented, the song itself too. It is having a football (soccer) theme, as it is also going to be used in France to promote the Soccer World Championship in South Africa.

Stefan Raab, an established name in the recent German Eurovision history, decided a good Eurovision position for Germany was his goal for this year. He developed a format called 'Unser Star Für Oslo', a pop idol like show, that is broadcasted on commercial channel ProSieben and national channel ARD. After a long selection process 2 girls were left on March 12, of which Lena got the chance to represent Germany with the song "Satellite".
